ABOUT US
Starting in 1989 as a trainee picture framer with a Cotswold gallery in Broadway, a progressive & enjoyable career was engaged. Skills were then attained from varying positions within the trade, the highest of these -1994 -General assistant at Haynes Fine Art (largest provincial dealers outside of London). Over an 18 month period rising to a management position running the restoration department & delivering + hanging valuable works of art around the UK.
In 2002, experimentation delving into the prospect of producing work as a contemporary / abstract artist, was followed the following summer with an exhibition at Orion Galleries -Broadway.
This 'testing of the water' proved to be a pleasingly successful entrance to the market, with sale of work in the immediate opening weeks. (picture here)
This was accompanied with positive feedback and enquires from the public. (This working development in recent years producing artwork, has produced a valuable understanding of the essence of art itself, painted in varying media and produced upon different grounds).
After gaining the industry qualification Guild Commended Framer in February 2003 from the Fine Art Trade Guild, September 2003 saw the birth of solo venture on a self employed basis.
Framing entries in prestigious Fine Art Trade Guild awards brought over the next 6 years 10 finalist positions . .
2008 saw a progressive increase from a
- 3rd place (picture Business Award, held at NEC Birmingham)
- 2nd place (Fine Art Trade Guild Awards -West Midland Region)
- + Award Winner (Best Creative Business -Best of Evesham)
2009
- 2nd place (Fine Art Trade Guild Awards - West & East Midlands Region)
- + Award Winner 'Mount Design' (Fine Art Trade Guild Awards - West & East Midlands region)
Framing work is hung in the board room of The Fine Art Trade Guild offices in London + twice displayed at the NEC Birmingham.
